Tried out a new workflow with this piece, which is starting off with a base mesh in Zbrush, sculpt all details, bake the Diffuse and AO in Substance Painter, add Color Gradients to the Diffuse and use that as a base for my Handpainted texture.
I learned a lot in the process in regards to zBrush, which is why I polypainted the sculpt too, even though I did not bake it for my painting. I also realised that I end up changing things up a lot in the final stage, which means I still rely a lot on my handpainting! However it’s nice to start with a base!
